Hi everyone,
I am thrilled to announce that my book, 'A Blue Moon Interlude' is live on the website of becomeshakespeare.com in paperback format. It is a set of two books.
I started writing this novel in 2017 and it took me three to years to complete it. I am thankful to my publisher, my editors and my designer for bringing this book out in good time, despite the pandemic.
About this book, this story is set in three stages; one, the vanished age when Nature was revered as the divine force, second- the ancient secret that Neelakanda Nayanar tried to protect & third is a call for vengeance. These three facets of the story merge to culminate into a climax. During the course of my research, I visited all the towns that I have mentioned in the book and talked to people there and I must say that I was amazed by the vast knowledge that exists in these ancient towns. It was truly an enriching experience.
The story is set in Chennai, a city that has always fascinated me for its delightful blend of tradition and modernity and travels to a fictitious village called 'Pandayanilavur' that translates roughly to 'Land of the ancient Moon'. Here, the villagers follow a strange ritual and this ritual connects to the main plot of the story, in which Nilagriva, Sindhoora and Jeeva uncover the mystery.
Written in three parts -the Vow, the Verse and the Vendetta, and journeying across eras, the plot moves between Chennai and the towns of five elements of Lord Siva. The book is dedicated to the state of Tamil Nadu and mentions how the author was inspired to learn the life stories of the highly respected and revered saints of Tamil Nadu, Nayanars.
Some of the hymns from the Thevaram are translated and quoted in the beginning of the chapters.
Hope the novel would pique the interests of the readers to learn more about the stories of our ancient history.
